After making a 25 word pitch myself and Danielle presented the pitch to the class to get feedback. Amoungst the questions that were asked somebody enqiured about what actors we would be using, this helped bring to our attention that we had still not finalised the decision for who would be featured in the video. After talking about this problem we have decided who the actors will be and now feel as if we can progress with storyboarding and planning more succesfully.

25 Word Pitch.
The XX and Florence provide a random and indie mix of dubstep and electronic beats brought to life by an eclectic video filled with eccentric stills.
Audience Profile.
The girl featured in the image above perfectly portrays the image we are going for in our video. She looks individual and has a definite edge to her style, she has a very similar hair colour to the female actress we will be using in our video so this is a style we will be hoping to duplicate. We will need two different outfits for each actor as some scenes will be shot outdoors. We will hope to make both the male and female actor look similar with there fashion sense to furthermore show to the audience a style and lifestyle.

To give us practice with editing and using iMovie we did a re-make of the video for 'Thats What I Go To school For' by Busted. By doing this exercise we have gained knowledge of how to use iMovie and different ways of editing a sequence of different shots. During filming we used a variety of different camera angles and worked inside and outside, these are all skills that we will be applying to our final music video. One of the first lessons we learnt is to apply a few seconds of filming before and after the shot you are aiming to film to allow for editing and fading. We also learnt that we had to use a large amount of shots as when they were watched back we realised that some were not suitable for use due to lighting/camera angle etc. At first we found the editing hard but after lots of practice we have got used to it and now feel capable to edit our final video to a high standard.
Lip synchronization is a technical term for matching lip movements with voice and can refer to any of a number of different techniques and processes. In the case of live concert performances, lip-synching is a commonly used to make the artist look as if they are singing when actually they're not, this is considered controversial among most people.
We did this task to practice our skills with lip syncing as it will come in handy when we are doing our practical.
This is a music video for Animal by Miike Snow. I think that the narrative of the song is about somebody who is confused in terms of what they wish to do with their life and who they are. The video has been heavily edited and uses basic shots and angles but is effective because of the style of editing, id suggest that the video falls under the disjuncture category as it is very abstract and doesn't relate to the song apart from certain props and backgrounds that are animal related. The video features three men, one who is the main focus at all times (the confused person), it begins and ends in the same way and the lyrics read 'I change shapes just to hide in this place but I'm still, I'm still an animal' I think the choice of the same start and finish is to accompany these lyrics, however the middle is compiled of various sharp quick shots, outfits and interiors/exteriors which also relates to the song being about somebody who is unsure or confused all of this helps you understand this as the audience. The video contains a lot of very good lip syncing and various backgrounds, this isn't hard to do however is very time consuming to get right.
This is the music video for Rabbit heart by Florence and the Machine. Rabbit Heart is the fourth single from Florence’s debut album, Lungs and reached 12th in the UK singles chart after being released on 22nd June 2009.The narrative from my perspective is about Florence (Florence Welch) her joining the music industry, the opening lyrics read ‘The looking glass, so shiny and new how quickly the glamour fades’ I interpreted this as how she would of been excited when she first got her big break but later realised its a lot more work than it seems and its not all glamorous. The video features florence and four other actors they dance, food is thrown from a table to the floor and finally Florence is pushed out into a river in a floating coffin-like box. The video starts off with an extreme close up of Florence’s mouth, only one musical instrument from the song appears in the video, one of the actors playing a harp. The occasional use of the fade transition gives the music video a dated appearance, and are also the reason why I picked this particular video to analyse as I think this is a good effect especially within this video.
Nothin' On You was the first song released in the UK by American Rapper B.O.B. aka Bobby Ray and the chorus is sung by Bruno Mars. The song is clearly all about Bobbys idea of a perfect girl which would seem as if it were his girlfriend as the lyrics read 'beautiful girls all over the world, I could be chasing but my time would be wasted, they got nothing on you baby'. The song is obviously a love song which isn't stereotypical for the genre rap music falls into, rap isn't really what I would listen to in my spare time, but I think that the video is really admirable and compliments the song well! The video is like a scrapbook of graphic design, it is simple in the fact that the background are simple and that when you think about it the shots a fairly basic and easy to produce its the editing that makes it. The collage of shots show various different girls to open and then switches to Bobby Ray walking down the street when he meets yet more girls, there are various Pans close ups and mid shots to give more of a dept to the video than just a man wondering down a street. The chorus shows a full length Bobby and Bruno singing and dancing on the street this is very cheesy and very cliche as it has been done in so many pop videos in the past! The video and song do become tedious and repetitive after about a minute but I think the idea behind the video is effective and inspires me.
