Florence and the Machine - Rabbit Heart music video analysis

This is the music video for Rabbit heart by Florence and the Machine. Rabbit Heart is the fourth single from Florence’s debut album, Lungs and reached 12th in the UK singles chart after being released on 22nd June 2009.The narrative from my perspective is about Florence (Florence Welch) her joining the music industry, the opening lyrics read ‘The looking glass, so shiny and new how quickly the glamour fades’ I interpreted this as how she would of been excited when she first got her big break but later realised its a lot more work than it seems and its not all glamorous. The video features florence and four other actors they dance, food is thrown from a table to the floor and finally Florence is pushed out into a river in a floating coffin-like box. The video starts off with an extreme close up of Florence’s mouth, only one musical instrument from the song appears in the video, one of the actors playing a harp. The occasional use of the fade transition gives the music video a dated appearance, and are also the reason why I picked this particular video to analyse as I think this is a good effect especially within this video.
