Vampire Weekends album cover for Contra. The simplicity of the text works well with the aged photo to make the image look slightly vintage for this cover. I think it works well and fits the bands style and genre of music. It has inspired me as we have thought about using a plain photo of Miles and Jo and just editing it in various ways to make it fit for purpose, although this could be seen a predictable for a CD cover it could work if we plan it well.

This is the cover for Brandon Flowers Debut solo album Flamingo. So far we have themed our video around the theme of indoors so I saw this album at as similar to something we would be both capable of producing and something that would fit with what we have produced so far. The interior and props are the main focus of this cover, the colour is also simple but makes the artist stand out even though he is positioned in the corner.

This cover for Manic Street Preachers album is so simple however eye-catching. Although this again is a picture of just a man with a polaroid camera, the effect on the photo makes it look worn and the camera is old so it gives it again a retro/vintage theme however the band produce rock music this cover still fits the purpose and is versatile. The black and white image and black writing work well together and the font being simple, bold and at the top of the CD make it both easy to see and splits the image and text into two different sections.

MIA is a British Songwriter, her music is mostly hip-hop and dance influenced. This is her self titled album MAYA. Our song is more Indie/Electronic however this album cover has by far inspired me the most. It is very different to any other cover I have seen in a long time. The use of the You Tube play bar and other internet and computer generated images is fairly basic its just slot of screenshot which have been cropped together to create an image, this would be easy to replicate. MIA's eyes are seen amongst lots of You Tube play bars, we thought that we could do something similar with Miles bright blue eyes, however, this would eliminate Jo from the cover, the song and our video are very much about the both of them and their relationship so we don't think it would be right to use just one of them on the cover we either use both or an image that isn't either of them!

This is Mumford and Sons album they are a London based folk music group. This cover accompanies their music genre and their personal style perfectly as it looks aged but still slightly modern, the use of the mild colours also helps it fit the genre as they wouldn't use bright bold colours to promote folk music as they are very different. Colour is a big part of the Cd cover and we will have to think about what colours are appropriate for our image. The part I liked most from this cover was the photography, yes they are all in the cover much like most CD covers, although with this album the photography is more interesting as it is taken from the outside looking in. If we use an Image of JO and Miles for the cover we will think carefully about using interesting photography.

Finally this is Bombay Bicycle Clubs (BBC) second album Flaws. Erica has an idea to take a simple image of Jo and Miles and work into it with either watercolour paint or black ink, we both think this is a good idea and are thinking about it further. This album cover helped me imagine Erica's idea as it is heavily influenced by a handwritten style, I think it works really well, personally I have this album and I think that the image fits the mellow sounds that are clearly apparent on BBC latest album. The artwork is very artistic however still fit in with the music and purpose after all it is a CD cover not a landscaped canvas.
